I am no love of those kind of books not because I don't care but, I have witness a few of that kind of life and I don't need to my heart to be break over and over again even in non-fictions. He had only one pair of clothes and they were all torn and worn out from over the years. As a conclusion, the book is worth for reading as it gives readers the awareness of abuse. His bed was an old army cot in the basement, his clothes were torn and smelly and when he was allowed the luxury of food it was scraps from the dogs' bowl. Child abuse is such an important issue that needs to be spoken about, and that is just what this author did.

Pelzer begins his story in the present tense, from which later chapters will depart. However, the second and third book had significant in terms of the way the author describes the plot and the structure of the story is relevant. Ebenezer is a very selfish uncle and envies David for being young and everything he does. Any how I give this book a four start rating because it was wonderful and breath taking. He then retells his story that led him into this situation. She no longer considered him a son, but a slave; no longer a boy, but an 'it'. It also shines a light on alcoholism and how dangerous it can be.
She did this to amuse herself, seeing him in pain puts a smile on her face. Sometimes, several minutes would pass without us talking. It is obvious that the book was criticized by different people, including the relatives of the writer, who said the plot of the book was a complete fairy tale. I personally loved this book! Dave Pelzer's story is the story of a child brutally beaten and starved by his emotionally unstable, alcoholic mother: a mother who played tortuous, unpredictable games - games that left one of her three sons nearly dead. Additionally, the author however did not write any other books previously, as the book entitle The Child called 'It' was his first book though. David himself tells the story in the first person. I hope you read the next two - as much grief as that first book contains, the third contains that much triumph.

I saw some of them fail so hard, and even die with the same burdens in their hearts even though they have given a chance to live a new one. His mom used so much negative diction, making him feel worthless and as if he should not be living. It really makes you cherish your children even more when you are done reading it. Besides that, his written language is rather an easy read for readers with subtle poetic proses. The things that the child went through for so many years is just heart wrenching and just awful.
