I was mistaken, not only did I get a look at a different culture, I also received a glimpse of the other side of American culture. Despite living in the land of freedom and opportunities, the family has to work hard in order to survive. He tells everyone he was born in California when really he was born in Mexico, his is too afraid to admit the truth. But, my first reaction was how Francisco handled so much things he had going on for him. The book was very interesting although this genre is typically not regarded as popular. The author style of writing was good because he didn't use hard long words to read and it wasn't difficult. I think many people would enjoy this book because it is really conversational and easy to follow.
