District 13 was one of the districts in the dystopian society of Panem in the popular science fiction series "The Hunger Games." It was located in the ruins of the former North America and was the center of the rebellion against the Capitol, the tyrannical government that ruled over Panem.
In the early days of Panem, District 13 was the center of the country's nuclear program. However, after a rebellion against the Capitol, the district was bombed and believed to be destroyed.
