Hooters is a chain of restaurants known for their casual atmosphere and attractive female servers, who are famously referred to as "Hooters Girls." In 2011, Hooters CEO and President James "Jimbo" R. Frey appeared on the reality TV show "Undercover Boss," in which high-level executives go undercover in their own companies to see how their business is being run from the ground level.
In the episode, Jimbo works alongside Hooters Girls at various locations and learns about the challenges they face on the job. One of the main issues he discovers is the lack of respect and professionalism some customers show towards the servers. Jimbo also learns about the strict appearance standards that Hooters Girls must adhere to, including wearing revealing uniforms and maintaining a certain level of physical attractiveness.
One of the most poignant moments in the episode comes when Jimbo meets with a group of Hooters Girls who have experienced sexual harassment on the job. They share their stories of being touched inappropriately and receiving unwanted advances from customers, and Jimbo is visibly moved and upset by what he hears. He promises to implement stricter policies and procedures to protect his employees from such behavior.
Jimbo's appearance on "Undercover Boss" helped to shed light on some of the difficult issues faced by Hooters Girls and the restaurant industry as a whole. It also demonstrated his commitment to improving the working environment for his employees and ensuring that they are treated with respect and professionalism. While Hooters may not be for everyone, it is clear that Jimbo is working to create a safer and more inclusive workplace for all of his employees.
"Undercover Boss" Hooters (TV Episode 2010)
I couldn't hold it in. Apparently the Hooters cliental is "less educated" and "lower income" and have "deprived morals. The funny thing is that Jimbo didn't look at all surprised when he told him he was CEO, he was like "OK, i already knew that" LOL. There will be a guitar auction immediately following the exercise of planting this ole boy. He had it written into his will that no one was allowed to wear black to his funeral. Real or fake he was an ss and Hooters needs to either fire him or say it was staged.
The fellow that had the President picking up blowing paper at the land fill just happened to be diabetic and was able to work. At the end of the day Scott was tired and his manager said he probably would not hire him. The people working their would have a better respect for the company if they knew that in no way would the demeaning behavior be tolerated. Maybe it's because in every episode, the bosses must change their appearances. . One particularly memorable episode from our usually congenial northern neighbors, featured Canadian CEO Rick Smiciklas breaking character and completely freaking out on a Wild Wing franchisee.
Should he have gone along with it? Jones I think I'll add some memorable quotes. And that's before we even begin to talk about the way he speaks to his employees, but I could go on about that forever. Hooters lies at the intersection of the service industry in which the customer is always right and the sex industry which has a number of rules and norms that define and protect the sex worker. It puts a bad name out for his company, even if he did talk to the guy and get it worked out it still gives a bad name. The bean eating contest was at the request of the producers and the girls volunteered to get TV time. First of all, I know Jim personally.
It creates a hostile environment. A Fans of the show will recognize that chosen employees often have some type of visceral connection with their boss, such as a family member coping with a similar illness, or falling behind on the mortgage like the CEO did before finding success. I see how they produce and I can pick up on a lot of show production that the average person does not. I would not be surprised if lawyers ambulance chasers are looking at this. Hoping to get on the next "Big Brother" show? You have to be 18 and older in order to work at hooters.
A welcome email is on its way. . . This will help us locate your information should you need us again. And while many shows have Undercover Boss thrived, retaining an astounding 38.
At the end of the episode the big boss shows his identity and thanks the good workers and brow beats the bad manager. We welcome guests of all ages in our Hooters restaurant, as well as our other food venues on property. He determined which girl would be able to leave work early based upon who would be the first to finish eating a plate of beans without using their hands. I am sure that the cooperating companies have a contract with the producer of the program and that the featured company has the right to review the show before it airs. I watch a lot of TV and motion pictures with a directors eye.
One of my girlfriends has promised when I die to hire 12 hooters girls to be my Paul Bearers and wear all black Hooters outfits when they work my burial. . Anyone who works at Hooters could spot them a mile away. I was good enough at it that I won three "Emmy" awards as a director on televison documentaries. Why would he not allow her to be one of the girls to leave early with such a valid excuse? A guy I knew died about six months ago.
Way too much work if you ask me. . And for those who say that that wasn't him and that he was asked by the production to "turn it up", I can only ask "How stupid can you be? While this point wasn't amplified, Coby did mention needing to talk with the owner of the franchise Jimbo managed. Right from the start you know he's a douchebag of a manager because his name is freaking JIMBO. Comments may take up to an hour for moderation before appearing on the site.
Of course my buddy Coby, C. Back on topic, the look on Jimbo's face definitely showed that he knew he was caught. . . I guess he also hasn't looked at his company's website either I didn't see it, but he looked awful young in the trailers and your comments don't suprise me.
does anyone know if the idiot manager from the texas hooters "Jimbo" from undercover boss got fired?
The girls should sue for sexual harassment and hostile work environment. He was actually surprised that women find the Hooters image degrading to women. . The young lady working in the office of the land fill who was taking care of most of her family on one salary gave the President the opportunity to reward her with a promotion to a higher position that would make her eligable for bonus. But after being the first CEO to go on the show twice, he realized that he couldn't single a few people out, and started a company-wide crisis fund for people in trouble.
