Hunter x Hunter is a popular manga series written and illustrated by Yoshihiro Togashi. The series has been serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine since 1998, and has been adapted into several anime television series, including the 2011 version.

As a fan of the manga, I was excited to see the 2011 anime adaptation. I was not disappointed. The animation quality is top-notch, with fluid movements and vivid colors. The character designs are true to the original manga, and the voice acting is superb.

One of the things that sets Hunter x Hunter apart from other shonen manga and anime is its complex plot. The series follows the story of Gon Freecss, a young boy who discovers that his father, whom he thought was dead, is actually alive and is a famous Hunter. A Hunter is a member of an elite group of people who are licensed to perform dangerous tasks such as capturing criminals, gathering rare animals, and searching for lost artifacts.

Gon sets out on a journey to become a Hunter and find his father, along with his friends Leorio, Kurapika, and Killua. Along the way, they encounter a variety of interesting and dangerous characters, and the story takes many twists and turns. The plot is well-written and keeps the viewer engaged from beginning to end.

One of the things that I particularly appreciate about Hunter x Hunter is its well-developed characters. Each character has their own unique personality and motivations, and they all undergo significant character development throughout the series. The relationship between the main characters is also well-done, with genuine moments of camaraderie and emotional depth.

Overall, I highly recommend Hunter x Hunter 2011 to fans of the manga and to those who are new to the series. It is a well-made anime with engaging characters and a complex plot. It is definitely worth checking out.

The group learns that Killua opened three levels of doors, sixteen tons total. It is really reminiscent of how dreary the filler arc at the end of the original Naruto was. Embrace this adventure called Hunter x Hunter! Similarly, the series has a battle system with Nen. Gon is a 12 year old kid who is, in my opinion, an improved and more realistic version of kid Goku from the original dragon ball, except for the fact that he's not insanely over-powered. Killua explains that Nanika must make physical contact to heal and that there are no resulting backlashes.

Meanwhile, Youpi pretends to be angered in order to have Knuckle falsely believe there is an opening for him to attack. Character designs become downright stupid at one point the antagonists turn into chibis and Gon looks like handsome Squidward with impossibly long hair , fights between minor side-characters we do not really care that much about are drawn out into three episode sequences, and things escalate beyond credulity. However, despite his fearsome reputation, Meruem is also a deeply emotional and introspective character, and his arc is one of the most poignant and moving parts of the series. Characters: 10 Where hxh really shines is in the shows' magnificent cast. I mean: we see what's going on, it's not necessary an explanation! The story starts with Gon, a 12-year-old boy who sets out for a journey to find his father and his first step is to become a Hunter.

However, one anime takes all these Shonen tropes and throw it out of the window. But really, what is there left to show now? Wing advises them to train with Zushi and start mastering Ten but Killua suggests that they should leave. As you follow the main characters on their journey, you learn more and more about just how expansive and unique the world is. My personal favorite is ' A kingdom of Predators'. .

Not to imply that the light arcs are inferior; they're still immensely enjoyable. The early arcs didn't feel like fillers and contributed something, whereas the later arcs were just random and only inflicted minor things to the story, but did more to the development of the characters, which is not a bad thing, but dragging it out for 60 episodes is a crime in it's own right. I can ensure you, go on and watch it til the end. The worst thing is during one of the most outrageously stupid moments in the history of shonen, a battle revolving around of all things dodgeball, all the worst clichés of mediocre shonen I was told Hunter x Hunter avoided were on full, proud display. Then, I am Going to answer you: If you are judging this anime for the picture, you are missing one of the best anime ever made. Along with the pointless election intrigue and the Pokemon designs, we also have Killua trying to heal Gon from his injuries from the previous arc. In order to find his father, Gon must become a hunter himself and sets out to do so.

Why Hunter X Hunter (2011) May Be the Best Anime Ever

As a whole though, the characters steal the show for being in a constant conflict with their emotions and goals. Honestly, I do not really know why anyone takes this series all that seriously. If you're anything like me then the fact that Hunter X Hunter has 148 episodes can be a little daunting: that's a hell of a commitment for a single story. But at least the exposition is somewhat enjoyable this time around. Once the Hunter Exam begins we get glimpses of so many other characters, but Killua and Hisoka immediately stand out among the crowd. It can easily be summed up as character driven arcs with each core cast having their own objectives they wish to accomplish.

It feels like the whole thing is ideas taken from Dragonball, the king of the bugs is a Cell imitation and his minions behave like those of King Picolo mixed with lots of Kaiji-level mind games. The execution of the show is constantly top-notch as well. And the way he wants to do that is by wishing to the Genie of the lamp. Gon comes up with the idea to choose the long route, and axe the wall dividing them between the short path, and all five of them make it down the base of the tower in time. Consider how Hunter x Hunter compares with other long-form battle shounen that are notable for their mediocrity even during its most successful arcs. And while some of the antagonists may seem memorable, others can be a nuisance to get used to.

He will explain what is a Hunter. So unlike most shonens, half of this show is not about raw power and delinquents blowing up mountains with their glowing aura, but brains and strategy. I loved that the main characters in HxH were rarely the most powerful or, for that matter, the most relevant. You will not be disappointed. Kurapika eventually realizes the front gate is not locked, unlike the smaller side gate, and Leorio struggles to open the gate. In the first two arcs the violence is quite childish and the mental breakdowns of the characters are done in a very light manner when they would easily be far cooler if they were looking crazier.

Review & Discussion: Hunter Exam Arc (Hunter X Hunter, 2011)

hunter x hunter 2011 review

And anyways, all modern shonen are now all shit, One Piece included animation is a joke and pacing is a snail. However, the biggest flaw was the ending. Power, I mean, Nen or aura vital energy , similar to what we see in other shonens like, Dragon Ball Ki or Naruto Chakra. The old man realizes that Gon will crack his skull if he continues with his headbutt, so he uses his right hand to push Gon away from him. Similarly, the pacing of certain arcs can feel slow.
