She begins to hold I Am Sam 's Mental Retardation I am Sam was quite possibly one of the best movies I have ever seen in my life. He has a comfortable job teaching at a local high school. Overall, I would recommend this movie because of its moving plot as well as showing mental disability in a more positive light. Maybe this previous viewer sat in the front row, in which case I could see the motion might be a problem, but that goes with ANY movie! Sam and his daughter Lucy Dakota Fanning have gotten through the basics, though not always in the conventional way, with the help of Sam's tightly-knit group of friends. Sam is a 40 year old man that has a mind of a 7 year old and does not have the proper care or mind to take care of child when he already has a mind of a child. The movie is so well received because of the characters, the message and cinematography. The depiction of disability at times may be a bit too light hearted and used for comic affect but the film makes up for it by establishing a valuable message. He believed that the songs and the content within the lyrics taught life-lessons. The daughter and Sam have a nice relationship. This movie is about a mentally challenged young man who takes in a homeless girl.
Finally, after discovering therapy and quitting acting, Jennette embarks on recovery and decides for the first time in her life what she really wants. This is why I believe Rita had a significant impact, with such a successful outcome. The father, Calvin, is quite distant and tries to reconnect with his depressed and suicidal son, but struggles to do so. Randy assures him that she will tell the judge he is the best parent for Lucy. I thought it was going to be a story about a child dealing with any sort of disability, which was way more interesting than the sudden twist that the whole plot has.
