In the case of Albert Martinez, my faith in him as an actor is restored in this movie as he essays at last a non-heel role. Magnifico's story was the first film to truly challenge me and my view of the power of cinema as a kid. He has always been very good in all of his movies — from La Vida Rosa as the bastard son of Rosanna Roces , Bagong Buwan and especially here in Magnifico. Inaalala nila ang gagastusin sakaling mamatay na ito. At home, his impoverished parents — Albert Martinez and Lorna Tolentino — are burdened by a child Isabella de Leon , grandmother, played by Gloria Romero. Wala kang karapatan sabihin sa akin kung ano ang hindi at data kong Gavin.
