As a child, Barack was content with this story until later when he wondered why his father never came back for him. He spoke to his Gramps black friend and asked him about going to college. Obama then describes his early life in Hawaii, where he lived with his mother and grandparents after the departure of his father when Obama was just two. After he was gone, I took the long way home, along the East River promenade, and tried to figure out what to make of the man. He is one of only two black kids at his school and his peers are frequently racist. In 1972-1973, Ann returned to Hawaii with Obama's half-sister Maya and Obama's father came to Hawaii for a month-long visit with his son. They met once, in 1971, when Obama Sr.
Following his life since childhood, Obama shows the challenges, obstacles, and hardships he faced and how he has dealt with racism.
