Sleeping Beauty is a classic fairy tale about a beautiful princess who is cursed to fall into a deep sleep for 100 years by an evil witch. The curse can only be broken by the kiss of a prince, who eventually comes to awaken the princess with true love's kiss.
The story begins with the birth of a princess, who is named Aurora by her parents, the king and queen. At the christening, three good fairies are invited to bestow gifts upon the baby. The first fairy gives Aurora the gift of beauty, the second gives her the gift of song, and the third gives her the gift of grace. However, an evil fairy who was not invited to the christening crashes the party and curses Aurora to prick her finger on the spindle of a spinning wheel and die before the end of the day.
The second fairy, who has not yet given her gift, intervenes and modifies the curse. Aurora will not die, but instead fall into a deep sleep for 100 years, to be awakened by the kiss of a prince. The good fairies put the entire kingdom to sleep, including Aurora, until the prince comes to awaken her.
One hundred years later, a prince named Prince Phillip hears about the sleeping princess and sets out to find her. He braves many dangers, including fighting off a dragon, before arriving at the castle where Aurora is sleeping. There, he finds the princess and gives her a true love's kiss, breaking the curse and waking her from her deep sleep.
Aurora and Phillip fall in love and get married, living happily ever after. The entire kingdom is awakened by the breaking of the curse and rejoices at the happy news.
Sleeping Beauty is a tale about true love and the power it has to overcome even the most wicked of curses. It is a story that has been beloved by generations and continues to be a classic fairy tale to this day.
