It's just that, by not making her a villain, writer-director I liked the movie, anyway. She plays the role as written. As a result, she can't get much sleep, and as if that weren't enough, she also has a chronic ulcer. The movie sort of loses its way. He is an insufferable egotist, superficial and supercilious, amazed by his own charm and good looks. Lucy leaves after George accuses her of being a saint, making everyone else look bad because they are humans who make mistakes. But, Wade is given two weeks notice. I like the way the characters talk. They disagree about politics and everything else. The first half of the movie is just about perfect, of its kind, and I found myself laughing more than I expected to, and even grinning at a colleague who was one seat over, because we were both appreciating how much better the movie was than it had to be.

I have not, by making these observations, spoiled the plot of the movie. Lucy initially rebuffs him but then returns and they declare their feelings. When George invites June to business social events that formerly would be just between George and Lucy, Lucy increasingly perceives the business events to be more like dates, and is surprised June is intruding on them. Synopsis Dedicated environmental lawyer Lucy Kelson goes to work for billionaire George Wade as part of a deal to preserve a community center.

When George sees June he is immediately attracted and is ready to hire her on the spot, with seemingly disregards Lucy's concerns. They act like an old married couple at a restaurant, able to simultaneously carry out a conversation while involuntarily exchanging food out of habit from knowing each other's food preferences. Although Lucy is able to effect the type of change she wanted from this position, she finds she cannot deal with George's expectations of her, namely being his primary confidante and advisor at all hours of the day and night, mostly about issues she considers frivolous. . I like the way they slip in political punchlines, and how some of the dialogue actually makes points about rich and poor, left and right, male and female, Democratic and Republican.
